MANILA – Neri Naig admitted that the leaking of the video showing her intimate moments with boyfriend Chito Miranda is by far the most depressing moment of her life. She, however, chooses to just shrug it off and embrace positivity instead of dwelling on the issue. “Mum lang ako about it,” she told entertainment site Pep.ph. “Embrace mo lang talaga yung positivity, positive na outlook.” Having been part of the showbiz industry, Naig said she is aware that she cannot please everybody and some people will just continue to comment on the things which they do not like about her. “Kasi may gawin ka mang maganda o may gawin ka mang hindi [maganda], you can’t please everybody naman. So instead of you checking kung ano yung mga sinasabi ng tao, yung mga taong nagma-matter sa 'yo, yun na lang ang i-embrace mo,” she said. The former “Star Circle Quest” finalist said what matters to her are what her loved ones say about her. “Once na yung nagsabi sa 'yo ay yung taong pinakamamahal mo, doon ka mag-breakdown, kasi kilala ka nila personally and alam mong totoo. Alam mo naman sa sarili mo kung tunay o hindi. So, ‘yon lang, ‘yon lang ang pinanghahawakan ko,” she said. Despite the controversies surrounding her relationship with Miranda, Naig said she takes comfort knowing that her family is behind her and she is not stepping on someone. "Basta alam kong wala akong inaapakang tao, okay na ako. Ginagawa kong joke na lang. Thankful naman ako na sobrang okay ang support ng mga tao sa paligid ko. Talagang nirerespeto nila ako kapag nakikita ko sila,” she said. Last September, another video clip purportedly showing the Parokya ni Edgar frontman and Naig, having sex, made the rounds on the Internet. The clip, which is 11 minutes and 20 seconds long, is different from the first video that spread in August.

Who is behind Chito-Neri sex videos?

MANILA -- The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has leads on the suspect in the viral spread of private videos of band vocalist Chito Miranda and his girlfriend Neri Naig. Following the release of a second sex video supposedly showing Miranda with Naig, the NBI on Tuesday said its investigation into the case has made progress. Miranda first brought the case to NBI on August 12, a week after the initial clip showing him and Naig having sex made the rounds online. At the time, the Parokya ni Edgar singer said he lost his hard drive, which contained the video files, in a theft. Referring to the case, NBI Cybercrime Division chief Vic Lorenzo said, "So far, may mga leads, and actually meron na lang kaming isang hard drive na hinihintay." "We are also coordinating with counterparts abroad to finally pinpoint 'yung source nung medyo compromising na video clip na first," he told ABS-CBN News' Niko Baua. Lorenzo said he is inclined to believe that both sex videos were uploaded by the same suspect, but added the investigation has yet to establish links. "Ang theory namin is iisa lang ang source. Itong part one na sinasabi nila, baka siya din ang source... Kaya lang noong nag-focus kami sa part two ng video, ili-link pa namin 'yan. Kasi we only started following some leads doon sa part two yesterday," he said. Anonymity as roadblock Noting the investigation is still ongoing, Lorenzo admitted tracking down suspects in internet-related cases has proven difficult compared to other crimes. "'Yung idea kasi, alam mo kung sino nag-upload. Proving it is another thing. Doon ang challenges natin, to prove na siya talaga ang nag-upload, or author nung uploading ng video," he said. The NBI official also pointed to the anonymity that internet users can afford in explaining why cybercrime cases can be difficult to handle. He went on to emphasize that those found guilty of violating Republic Act 9995, or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, may be imprisoned for a minimum of three years to a maximum of seven years. "Unang-una kasi, hindi mo regulated ang internet. Anybody could use the power of the internet, leverage on the power of Internet to create anonymity. Hindi mo malalaman kung sino, 'yun ang mga challenges namin. "Hindi katulad sa mga ordinary crimes na may footprints, fingerprints na mare-recover ka physically. Ito, ang investigation mo, you're tracing 'yung origin or culprit or the one who upload the video on cyberspace. Hindi sa real world," he said.

Chito Miranda defends Neri against bashers

MANILA – Parokya ni Edgar vocalist Chito Miranda came to the defense of his girlfriend, former “Star Circle Quest” finalist Neri Naig, after several netizens bashed her following the leak of their private video. In his personal Facebook account on Wednesday night, Miranda shared facets about his girlfriend that the public are not aware of. “This is my girlfriend, Neri. She's an actress. Though she is not as sikat as the others, she is happy and content. Not many people know this, but whenever she has time to spare, she'd go and visit her favorite aeta village along with her friends, and hang out with the aetas, simply because she enjoys it,” he wrote. Miranda added: “She'd collect and bring used, worn-out school books and read to the kids, trying to help them learn to read as well. She'd bring school supplies na binili sa divisoria, sit down with the kids, and teach them how to write their names. She'd bring snacks, and sometimes would even set up games for the kids in the community.” The Parokya ni Edgar frontman further noted that Naig was "never applauded" for this act of charity, "nor was she famous for it, and also had no major reasons for doing it.” After sharing what his girlfriend does during her spare time, the Parokya ni Edgar frontman then asked Naig’s bashers one question. “What do you do on your spare time aside from bashing helpless girls on the internet? Whatever it is, I honestly hope it makes you happy,” he said. Miranda said he does not mind what other people say about him but he does care about what they say about his girlfriend. “Me and my girlfriend are NOT saints obviously (me, being very far from it), but she is a good person and those who really know her, know that she is.
