Simon Cowell Gets Primped by Ex-Fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy Before Breaking Silence on Baby at TCA

Friendly exes alert! A day after likely learning along with the rest of the world that Simon Cowell was going to be a dad, a smiling Mezhgan Hussainy was spotted pulling up to her former fiancée's house to help him primp for his appearance this afternoon at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Los Angeles. The makeup artist and the TV-and-music mogul apparently have remained on good terms since breaking off their engagement in 2011, about a year after Cowell optimistically predicted on The Tonight Show that their wedding would take place "within the next 10 years." Hussainy worked on American Idol with Cowell and now works with him on The X Factor—but it does seem to be the 53-year-old Brit's policy to maintain friendships with his exes... And make sure that they're all friends as well! (Or at least can sit in the same room together.) For instance, the ever-suave Simon was photographed in 2012 with married future baby mama Lauren Silverman, Hussainy and another ex-flame, singer Sinitta Malone, all of them sitting together in the front row at a fashion show. But Sinitta may not be taking the baby news as well as Hussainy seems to be. She tweeted yesterday (perhaps coincidentally, perhaps not), "Something has just happened...half miracle, half nightmare! #WakeMeUpIWantToGetOff!" At this point it's unknown just how far back Cowell's romantic relationship with Silverman goes, though they (and Silverman's husband, Andrew) have reportedly been friends for at least seven years. Biographer Tom Bower wrote in Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell that Silverman was "completely flabbergasted" when Cowell told her in February 2010 that he was engaged to Hussainy. The favor was probably returned yesterday. But apparently thanks in part to Hussainy, Cowell looked totally put together when he accepted congratulations from a reporter at TCA but decline to speak further on the subject, telling the press, "Sorry. Unfortunately, I have to keep this private for the moment. It's just one of those things, but thank you anyway."

Simon Cowell Isn't Alone: 6 More Surprise Celeb Dads!

The news that Simon Cowell is going to be a dad pretty much shocked everyone, especially since no one even knew who he was dating. Then we found out he's going to be the father to New York socialite Lauren Silverman's baby—which provided yet another shocker, since she's still technically married to his friend and real-estate mogul Andrew Silverman. But during what a source tells E! News has been "a messy split," Simon "became a shoulder to cry on for her." And although, the X Factor judge's news was unexpected, he's not the first star to drop a baby bombshell! Here are 6 more surprise celeb dads... 1. Jude Law: In 2009, a rep for the divorced, then-father-of-three announced that another baby was on the way. After a one-nighter with aspiring actress/model Samantha Burke, Law learned that she was pregnant with their child. A DNA test confirmed the paternity, and Law vowed to support the baby Sophia, who was born in September 2009 without her father by her side. A month later, mother and daughter posed for the cover of Hello!, and at the time of the magazine's publication, Jude had still not met his daughter. 2. Gavin Rossdale: This is a one-night stand the rock star will never forget. After having a fling with singer Pearl Lowe when they were both in their late teens, Rossdale found out (many years later) that he is the father of Lowe's daughter, Daisy. Ironically enough, the duo stayed close, and the Bush frontman was named the girl's godfather. Except now, he can drop the god part. 3. Hugh Grant: The actor had a "fleeting affair and while this was not planned" he became a dad. After having a short relationship with Chinese actress Tinglan Hong, Grant became a father to a baby girl named Tabitha. His rep told E! News at the time, "He and the mother had a fleeting affair and while this was not planned, Hugh could not be happier or more supportive. He and the mother have discussed everything and are on very friendly terms." "I like my daughter very much. Fantastic. Has she changed my life? I'm not sure. Not yet. Not massively, no. But I'm absolutely thrilled to have had her, I really am. And I feel a better person," he said about being a dad. 4. Ryan Phillippe: After having a summer romance with Alexis Knapp, the actor's ex-galpal informed him that she was pregnant with his child in the fall of 2010. Phillippe was so sure he was the father, that he didn't bother taking a paternity test and even showed up at the hospital for the birth. Benicio del Toro Jason Merritt/Getty Images 5. Benicio Del Toro: One of the most shocking baby announcements in the past few years (maybe even ever) was Kimberly Stewart pregnant with Del Toro's child. "Kimberly is pregnant," Del Toro's rep confirmed to E! News. "Benicio is the father and is very supportive. Although they are not a couple, they are looking forward to the arrival of the baby." The pair, who never even a pair, continue to coparent their daughter Delilah, who was born in Aug. 2011. Eddie Murphy Michael Loccisano/Getty Images 6. Eddie Murphy: After splitting from ex-wife Nicole Mitchell, whom he has five children with, the actor started hooking up Melanie Brown aka Scary Spice. Months later, the singer announced that she was pregnant and claimed Murphy was the father, but he denied the claims until a paternity test was done. Sure enough, Angel Iris is his daughter.

Simon Cowell Egged During Britain's Got Talent Finale: No Yolking Matter

If you caught the finale of Britain's Got Talent you were probably wondering, did that just happen?! Yup. Simon Cowell got egged. A woman who appeared to be a backup singer opted to use her moment on stage to pelt Simon and fellow judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams with eggs during an opera performance on the U.K. show by Richard and Adam Johnson. The woman was then escorted off the stage. "Natalie Holt (age 30) was part of the backing group for their performance, and as a result of her misguided actions the police were called," a BGT rep said in a statement. "However, we have decided to take no further action at this stage." Holt herself scrambled to release a statement saying: "I want to apologize to Richard and Adam for overshadowing their performance. I've never done anything like this before and in hindsight I have realized it was a silly thing to do." So what's Simon have to say about the whole ordeal? It seems to be going over easy for the BGT honcho, as he jokingly tweeted: "I really don't like eggs."

Demi Lovato Texts Simon Cowell X Factor Panel Suggestions, Surprises Fans in NYC

Demi Lovato has a lot on her plate! The singer has just released her latest album entitled "Demi" and is gearing up for the next season of X Factor. When it comes to who should join her and Simon Cowell on the panel for the hit singing show, she's got endless suggestions. "I have a lot of people I would like to see," she told E! News at a Topshop event in NYC. "I'm constantly texting Simon saying, 'I have an idea! Do you think this person would do it?'" The bond between the two is stronger than ever, she revealed. So much so that she doesn't want him to ever return as a judge on American Idol. "I really do love him so much," she said. "I'd come after him, I really would [if he left]." During a recent trip to New York City, Lovato hyped up fans in the streets with a little shameless self-promotion. While in a car, the singer screamed out to pedestrians (and some shocked fans!) on the sidewalk to go and get her new music on iTunes. Catch the funny video above!
