MANILA – As early as now, comedian Vice Ganda is predicting that his latest movie “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” will become another box-office hit when it opens in cinemas on December 25.
Vice Ganda told ABS-CBN News that among all his movies, he is proudest of the upcoming comedy where he plays four different characters.
“So far ito ang pinakamahirap na movie kong ginawa kasi apat 'yung characters ko. 'Yung bihisan pa lang and prosthetics, maliban pa sa acting, sobrang hirap na. Ang daming effort na kailangang i-exert. Kahit ito 'yung pinakamahirap na ginawa ko, isa ito sa pinaka-fulfilling,” he said.
Making he movie even more special is the fact that he was able to finally work with his idol, veteran actress Maricel Soriano.
“Bilang isang bakla, ang tagal ko ng fan ni Ms. Maricel Soriano. Ni hindi ko yata naisip na ganito kalapit ko na makakatabi si Maricel Soriano. Sobrang dream come true talaga. 'Yun nga lang makita ko siya sa personal… masayang masaya na ako, ano pa kaya yung nanay ko siya sa pelikula?” he said.
Vice Ganda also said this movie is even funnier than “Sisterakas,” which is currently the highest grossing Filipino film of all time.
“Ibang experience talaga ito. Proud na proud ako sa movie na ito. Sobra akong excited na makita ng lahat kasi ito ang pinakamahirap na pelikula pero so far pinakabongga kong nagawa. Kung naaliw kayo sa ‘Sisterakas’ last year, mas magandang ‘di hamak ito. Ako na ang nagsasabi na mas nakakatawa,” he said.
The comedian said he is already looking forward to Christmas, adding that the success of “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” would be one of the best gifts he would want to receive.
“Masaya kaming buong pamilya this Christmas. Maganda ko ring sasalubungin ang Pasko at New Year dahil blockbuster itong movie ko, kine-claim ko na na blockbuster ito dahil alam kong susuportahan niyo ako dahil gusto niyong tumawang lahat,” he said.
Vice Ganda said his mother will also return to the Philippines this Christmas to support his movie.
