Juday says she has yet to learn ropes of hosting

MANILA – Judy Ann Santos is not ashamed to say that there is still a lot of room for improvement for her when it comes to hosting. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Santos admitted she still gets nervous every time she tapes her new Kapamilya game show, “Bet on Your Baby.” “Hindi pa [ako nakaka-adjust] kasi tuwing nagte-taping kami, taping na iyon pero kinakabahan pa ako. Pero nae-enjoy ko siya. Nae-enjoy ko 'yung responsibility, 'yung pagiging spontaneous nung show. Makulit lang talaga 'yung show, pang bagets siya,” she said. While she has already hosted the Philippine franchise of the cooking reality show “Master Chef,” Santos said she remains clueless as to people’s expectations of her in this new game show. "Bet On Your Baby," which aired its pilot episode last October 19, proved to be an instant hit as it drew huge audiences and topped social media trending topics on that day. According to data from the market research group Kantar Media, the premiere scored a nationwide TV rating of 26.1%, almost double that of its time slot rival, GMA's "24 Oras Weekend," which managed a rating of 14.4% Apart from that, the show's official hashtag "#BetOnYourBabyPH," took the No. 1 spot in the Philippines' local trending topics on Twitter, which moved Santos to express her excitement and gratitude to the viewers who made the show an instant success. “Sobra akong thankful sa lahat ng nanood, sa lahat ng sumuporta kasi grabe yung kaba ko talaga. Siyempre hindi ko alam kung ano ang ie-expect ng mga tao sa akin since hindi naman ako host ng isang game show. Sobrang thankful talaga ako,” she said. Santos said she has been asking tips from her husband, Ryan Agoncillo, who has been hosting several shows on TV since the 1990s. “Always naman [kaming nagtutulungan]. Basta relax lang daw ako, na hindi ko magawa-gawa. Pero sabi niya maganda na kinakabahan pa ako kasi it means may takot pa ako sa performance ko,” she said. Currently busy on “Bet on Your Baby,” Santos said she will not be working on another series or movie just yet. “Baka next year na. Tapos na ako this year kasi hindi na rin naman na aabot kung sakali. Movies, may mga meetings na nagaganap, hopefully with Star (Cinema) pero I am not yet sure. Maraming maraming exciting projects. Hindi pa lang mag-materialize kasi marami ring kino-consider na mga bagay,” she said. Santos added: “Ako naman I’m just waiting lang kung ano ang ibigay ng Diyos na tamang project for me sa tamang panahon. Ngayon relax lang muna ako.”
