Carly Rae Jepsen arrives in Manila

MANILA – Carly Rae Jepsen is now in Manila for her one-night concert. The 27-year-old Canadian pop star arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport via a Delta Air Line flight at 10:40 p.m. Monday. The former “Canadian Idol” finalist will hold a concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Wednesday. She is the voice behind the worldwide hit “Call Me Maybe.” In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News’ Gretchen Fullido, Jepsen said she intends to expand her Filipino connection and is also open to collaborating with Filipino artists. "When I'm not writing for myself, I like to write for other artists, too. So that would be definitely something I would be open to doing," she said in a phone interview. "Actually the second boyfriend that I ever dated was Filipino, and he was a talented musician. He used to play the saxophone all the time. We used to come together all the time," the 27-year-old pop star added. Visiting the Philippines for the first time, Jepsen said “the band boys and me are so, so, so pumped!” Asked what her Filipino fans could expect from her concert in Manila, Jepsen said: “Well it's going to be a party, like a retro-pop party. We've got lights, we will encourage every one to sing along and dance. It's going to be a lot of fun!”
