MANILA – He may have appeared in several movies but Callalily vocalist Kean Cipriano said he will never turn his back on music to go full time in showbiz.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Cipriano said he is really a musician by heart and is just fortunate to have been given acting opportunities.
“Acting is a different kind of performance art. Nae-enjoy ko siya kahit ibang mundo siya from music, pero somehow nasa isang circle lang siya ng entertainment world,” he said.
Cirpriano said he is grateful for those who are manage his career because they always consider his primary interest.
“I am very blessed to have a very good management. Sila ‘yung nagha-handle ng schedule ko at ng lahat ng transaction ng projects. Nagpapasalamat ako dahil nararamdaman ko ‘yung respect ng industry. Dahil alam nila na kasi at the end of the day, it’s always going to be Kean Cipriano of Callalily,” he explained.
Cipriano is among the stars in the upcoming Star Cinema movie “Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo,” which stars Kim Chiu and Xian Lim.
The rocker said he is honored to be directed by Joyce Bernal in the movie.
“Pangarap naming dalawa ni Direk Joyce na makagawa ng pelikula together at nangyari sa pelikulang ito. Ito ‘yung unang pelikula na nagawa namin at gusto kong gumawa pa ng maraming pelikula with Direk Joyce,” he said.
The Callalily frontman said he considers Bernal his mentor in showbiz.
“Kino-consider ko siya bilang mentor ko at isa sa pinakamatalik kong kaibigan sa indutriya na ‘to. Kung may problema ako I trust her,” he said.
