Kitkat almost made it to 'American Idol'

MANILA, Philippines -- Now it can be told: Comedienne Kitkat once tried out for "American Idol" but didn't continue on to Hollywood because she isn't an American citizen. Appearing on "Banana Nite" on Wednesday, Kitkat said she is still hoping to audition again for the hit American singing contest. "Sabi ko pagdating ng panahon at nakapag-apply ako as an American citizen eh sasali ulit ako doon," said Kitkat, who auditioned for "Idol" while she was taking a break in US. Kitkat said she once won a singing contest in Florida, which gave her a pass to audition in Hollywood for "Idol." "Nag-audition ako may sakit pa ako noon. Tapos biglang sinabi may contest daw that day. So may mga American audience, may kalaban talaga ako sa contest 'yon. Tapos binoto nila akong lahat, nanalo ako," she said. Kitkat is currently promoting the movie "Tuhog" with Eugene Domingo, Jake Cuenca and Eugene Domingo.
