MANILA, Philippines -- Years after a photo showing them kissing went viral, actor John Estrada sees nothing wrong working again with socialite actress Gretchen Barretto.
Back in 2008, a photo showing him and Barretto kissing circulated online. At the time, Barretto's manager Boy Abunda admitted that the photo was real but stressed that the two were not having an affair.
In a statement issued at the time, Estrada apologized to Barretto and her loved ones for any hurt the photo may have caused.
Now, Estrada and Barretto are co-stars in the primetime series "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" with Judy Ann Santos.
"OK naman wala namang kaso. Wala talaga, "Estrada told reporters in a recent interview.
"Magkaibigan kami at magka-trabaho kami. 'Yun lang 'yon. Hindi talaga dapat bigyan ng (malisya)," the actor stressed.
Estrada said Barretto is the best choice for the role of a lawyer who will help the show's lead character Anessa, played by Santos.
"I think it's a guest appearance lang. I think may isang role doon na medyo magandang role at parang si Gretchen lang ang mag-portray so kinuha nila," he said.
