Cherry Pie asks public to be 'kind' to Kim, Maja

MANILA -- Veteran actress Cherry Pie Picache shared her thoughts about the rift between Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador, her co-stars in the defunct ABS-CBN soap "Ina, Kapatid, Anak." While Picache hopes that Chiu and Salvador will patch things up soon, the veteran actress said this is something that cannot be forced. "Huwag lang natin ipilit. Tao sila, may damdamin sila, malalaki na sila. Alam nila [ang ginagawa nila]. Let them process it and in time, I'm sure [magkakaayos sila]. Ganoon naman tayo, 'yung ginawa natin noong kabataan natin, parang pinagtatawanan mo na lang [ngayon]," Picache told reporters on Wednesday. "So in time, I hope they will patch things up, 'yung ganoon. Pero para sa akin, para ipilit na pagbatiin, huwag muna. Kasi siyempre, may kanya-kanya silang pinanggagalingan," she added. Picache went on to praise Chiu and Salvador for remaining professional on the set of their top-rating soap despite their rift. "Kayo napanood niyo, mayroon ba kayong naramdaman [na tension]? Wala. Sobrang [professional], ako nga kapag iniisip ko kung sa akin nangyari 'yon, ay hindi ko kaya. Very professional, very dedicated, very committed to their job. I love these kids dearly," she said. Meanwhile, Picache asked the public to be "kind" to Chiu and Salvador and give them the time and space that they need. "Kaya medyo let's be kind. Mahirap 'yung pinagdadaanan [nila], and these are still young kids. I mean, they are not adult-adult, bata pa naman sila so medyo hinay-hinay lang sa panghuhusga," she said, referring to "bashers" of the two stars online. The rift between the two former best friends started when Salvador began dating actor Gerald Anderson, Chiu's former boyfriend.
