Bong Revilla backs out of 2013 MMFF

MANILA, Philippines -- Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. is not joining this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), according to Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Francis Tolentino. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Tolentino said Revilla's film "My Super Kap" was pulled out from the MMFF due to conflict in schedules of his leading ladies, Kapamilya stars Toni Gonzaga and Ai Ai delas Alas. Revilla added that they won't be able to make the deadline because of the film's special effects. The film, which was one of the eight official entries for this year's MMFF, will be moved next year. Meanwhile, Laguna Governor ER Ejercito is hoping the MMFF committee will choose his film "Boy Golden" to replace "My Super Kap." This is not the first time this happened In the MMFF. Last year, another film also backed out, paving the way to the entry of Brillante Mendoza's "Thy Womb," which won several awards. (please embed video from Mornings @ ANC)
