Xian speaks up on alleged spat with Enchong

MANILA – Xian Lim finally broke his silence amid reports that he and fellow “Ina Kapatid Anak” actor Enchong Dee had a confrontation on the set of their primetime series. In an interview with entertainment website Pep.ph, Lim clarified that it was not really a confrontation but a misunderstanding between the two actors. Lim said the incident happened before actress Kim Chiu’s birthday last April 19 when some of their supporters came for a visit, bringing with them a lot of food. “Binawalan nila (production people) ang lahat ng mga fans to go there pero ang nangyari, all of a sudden nagising na lang ako na may mga fans, may mga supporters, mga regular supporters namin. I thought it would be impolite, improper para sabihan sila na ‘Ay, umalis na kayo,’” he said. According to Lim, he found it difficult to ask their fans to leave. “Kaya I decided to entertain them. I guess people got offended. People got the wrong idea na they thought na sumusuway ako sa rules and regulations. It’s just really being polite to our visitors who were already there, and it seemed improper and rude to have to turn them away,” he said. Lim said he also appealed to the production team of “Ina Kapatid Anak.” “Just to make it clear and sinabi ko rin sa production na sana huwag kayong magalit sa akin kasi pinaglalaban ko lang ang mga supporters ko kasi sila pinaglalaban nila ako. Kung magagalit kayo sa akin because you felt na I disobeyed the rule, it’s more of being polite,” he explained. Meanwhile, Lim said it is not true that he and Dee are not talking to each other after what happened. “Kami ni Enchong nag-uusap kami, imposibleng ‘di kami mag-usap niyan. Siyempre may misunderstanding na nagaganap but it’s not the way people think. Ako kasi open ako sa kanya, I’m sure he’ll be open din sa akin. ‘Yun lang ang sasabihin ko, kung misunderstanding man, oo may misunderstanding pero napag-uusapan. Di 'yung dededmahin ko siya, di kami mag-uusap, walang ganun,” he said. Lim believes the incident was blown out of proportion when it was reported in some newspapers. “Just to make it clear, 'yun nga tension in the set with the people visiting. Sinabi ko let’s move along, alam kong bawal pero nandiyan na sila. I’m pretty sure more than P10,000 ang nagastos nila para sa pagkain kasi for everyone,” he said. “Siguro I was just asking for a little bit of respect ...Sabihin natin maybe things get exaggerated. Sa akin lang don’t exaggerate things not only with the writers but to people base sa hearsay,” he explained.
