MANILA – Comedian Vice Ganda confirmed his “I-Vice Ganda Mo ‘Ko” concert tour will still proceed as planned despite a controversy over a sketch in which he poked fun at broadcast journalist Jessica Soho during his show at the Araneta Coliseum last May 17.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Wednesday, Vice Ganda said he initially had hesitations whether he should still bring his concert on a national tour but he and the producers agreed to push through with it.
Television host Vice Ganda says his nationwide concert tour is still a go
“Kahapon nag-meeting kami, ang daming inquiries about sa ‘I-Vice Ganda Mo Ako sa Araneta.’ Mayroon sa Davao, Baguio, Cagayan. Sobrang dami. Iniisip ko nga kung itutuloy ba natin? Go, ituloy daw,” he said.
However, he admitted that he is not sure whether his succeeding shows will still contain the same content.
“Iyon ang kailangan nating pag-isipan. Gusto ko magpasaya, mag-Vice Ganda ng maraming tao pero siyempre kailangan matuto ka din sa mga nangyayari,” he said.
The “It’s Showtime” host said he also wants to prove to the people that he is also taking the current issues seriously.
“Hindi naman puwedeng bara-bara lang or arogante ka lang, mayabang ka. Hindi naman magiging masaya ang buhay. Gusto kong patunayan sa mga tao na nag-iisip din naman ako,” he said.
Aside from the concert tour, Vice Ganda said a DVD copy of his Araneta show will also be released soon.
