MANILA -- Kapamilya actor Alfred Vargas is winning the congressional race in the fifth district of Quezon City,
Vargas, who is running under the Liberal Party, has a big lead over over Annie Rosa Susano of KKK.
According to latest data from the Commission on Election (Comelec) on Tuesday, Vargas garnered 56,954 votes as of 10:35 a.m., with 81.90% of election returns processed, according to latest partial and unofficial results from the Comelec Transparency Server.
Susano had 21, 837 votes.
In 2010, Vargas was sworn as councilor of the second district of Quezon City.
