Baron Geisler to attend SoHo Film Fest in NYC

MANILA – Controversial actor Baron Geisler will represent the award-winning Emilio Aguinaldo biopic “El Presidente,” which will open the SoHo International Film Festival in New York City. In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Thursday, Geisler said this will be his first trip to New York and he considers it an honor to represent the country. The actor is also hoping the movie, which stars Laguna Gov. Jeorge Estregan in the title role and Cesar Montano as Andres Bonifacio, will win an award. “I’m really praying na we’ll bring home the bacon kasi napaka-tough po ng competition. Last year Germany ang nanalo so sana may mauwi po tayo. Kung wala man, panalo pa rin tayo dahil nakarating tayo sa film festival na iyon,” he said. The prestigious festival will open at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 5 (US time), at the Sunshine Cinema in 143 East Houston, New York City, with some of the film’s cast and crew expected to grace the event.
