Sarah Geronimo got another nod from an international award-giving body - this time the World Music Awards, where she is nominated in three categories: World’s Best Female Artist, World’s Best Live Act and World’s Best Entertainer of the Year. She is the only Filipino nominee.
Tough competition
Sarah faces tough competition in the World’s Best Live Act category where she is up against Aerosmith, Coldplay, U2, Bruno Mars and Psy, among others.
For World's Best Entertainer of the Year, Sarah is pitted against music giants David Bowie, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson.
Sarah was nominated in the recently-concluded Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards, but she lost to Chinese singer Han Geng.
According to its official website, the World Music Awards, which started in 1989, “honors the selling recording artists from every continent.” Past winners include Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Rod Stewart and Bon Jovi.
