Billy mum on Nikki's statements about split

MANILA – Actor Billy Crawford said he has yet to watch the interview of his former girlfriend, singer Nikki Gil, who spoke for the first time about their split. In an interview with ABS-CBN News during the premiere night of his latest film “Momzillas” on Tuesday, Crawford refused to comment on the statements which Gil made, saying he has not yet seen the video. “Hindi ko pa napapanood,” Crawford briefly said. During Gil’s “Bandila” guesting, she said it was primarily their difference in values that prompted the breakup. “If I were to give a reason for it, because I don’t think it was never made clear, the difference is in values. It’s one of the things na napakaimportante, na pareho kayo ng pinaniniwalaan, ng values. It has to be the same. Otherwise it won’t work,” she said. Asked what she thinks went wrong in their relationship, Gil said: “I wish I knew. I think more importantly, what’s happening now is more important. There’s no use looking back. I just want to be excited for the things to come.” But when asked if there was a third party involved, Gil gave this short but meaningful answer: “At this point, I don’t think it’s any of my business anymore.” While Gil left viewers wondering because she did not answer the question directly, ABS-CBN News posed the same question to Crawford on Tuesday. “I’ve said it before, there’s no third party. It’s whatever everybody else thinks right?” he said. According to Gil, she has learned a lot from their breakup and she feels like she is currently “at the center of God’s will for my life.” “In every relationship, kapag bumangon ka mula sa pagkakadapa, of course you’re in pain for a while but in hindsight you’ll realize the things that you’ve learned about yourself, about being a partner -- which will only equip you for your future partner,” she said.

Billy, Andi remain friends despite issues

MANILA -- There were no awkward moments between actor-host Billy Crawford and actress Andi Eigenmann while doing the film "Momzillas," even if the actress being dragged into the split of Crawford and Nikki Gil. In a live interview with "The Buzz" on Sunday, Crawford said nothing has changed with his friendship with Eigenmann after the issue. "Siguro ang pagbabago, naging single ako," he said. "Apart from that, no.. Our working environment, 'yung mga samahan namin sa pelikula at off-cam, makukulit talaga kami dito e." Eigenmann already denied being the cause of Crawford and Gil's breakup in an emotional interview with "The Buzz," while Crawford earlier apologized to his "Momzillas" co-star after the issue. "Andi became a friend of mine through the film. We became close that's really true. I already apologized to Andi dahil nadadamay siya sa personal life ko. I don't mean harm for anyone. Kaya ayaw ko na lang magsalita kasi they already made up their mind at hahaba lang ng hahaba," he said at the time.

Nikki on being friends with Billy: In due time

MANILA – Singer-actress Nikki Gil did not mind walking the red carpet of the Star Magic Ball alone, unlike in the previous years when she attended the annual event with former boyfriend Billy Crawford. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Gil said she is enjoying her current single status, adding that she loves exploring new things by herself. “Pinagdasal ko lang talaga to be okay so that we can move on and enjoy the more exciting things that life is throwing my way,” she said. She added: “Wala akong date. I’m good. I’m fine. I’m okay. I’m happy and better. I’ve moved on.” Asked if she is open to be friends with Crawford again, she said: “Maybe in due time. Someday, we’ll see.” The well-loved celebrity couple broke up last last July, with Crawford citing his being "lost" as one of the reasons behind the split. Meanwhile, Gil denied that she is seeing someone again after her split with Crawford, her boyfriend for almost five years. “No, I’m not. I’m enjoying being single. Just enjoying being single,” she said, adding that she is happy to be surrounded by friends who have stayed by her side even during difficult times.

Why Billy Crawford didn't attend Star Magic Ball

MANILA – (UPDATED) “It’s Showtime” host Billy Crawford denied that he is avoiding his former girlfriend, singer Nikki Gil, when he chose not to attend the much-awaited Star Magic Ball last Saturday. In an interview with ABS-CBN News at the sidelines of the press conference for his upcoming movie “Momzillas,” Crawford explained he has an out-of-town gig last weekend. “Out of town ako, I had a corporate event. Pwede ba mag-move na kayo?” he said in jest. Asked for his reaction about Gil’s statement that she is willing to be friends with Crawford in due time, Crawford merely said: “Yeah, sure.” Obviously trying to change the topic, Crawford then said he is hoping Gil could watch “Momzillas,” which will be out in theaters nationwide on September 18. "Move on, keep moving. I already said this before, na I wouldn’t answer anything about this anymore. It’s redundant na eh,” he said again. Crawford explained that the reason why he refuses to answer any questions about his past relationship is because he also wants to respect Gil’s privacy. “It’s continuously being said over and over again. I think we should just respect her and you could respect me because it’s between us na lang,” he said. 'Can't live without love' But in another interview, Crawford was more introspective when asked about the topic. "Of course, I do believe in love, you can't live without love," he insisted. After their breakup, the singer-dancer left the country for a short vacation in Texas to be with his family, saying this really helped him to recover. "Isa siyang malaking reset ang naganap sa buhay ko, kahit sobrang iksi. I was there for two-and-a-half weeks pero it's so refreshing to go back to your root, to go back to your family," he said. "You know it is hard to start from scratch but you have to. I guess I learned to just focus on who I am, what do I want to be. Even if I'm 31 years old, you still kinda doubt yourself from time to time. Pero ‘yung going back to my mom and dad was a big difference for me. I learned to shut everything off. I wish it could have been longer but yung two-and-a-half weeks na yon it's more than enough," he added. In an interview with ABS-CBN News before the Star Magic Ball last Saturday, Gil said she is enjoying her current single status, adding that she loves exploring new things by herself. “Pinagdasal ko lang talaga to be okay so that we can move on and enjoy the more exciting things that life is throwing my way,” she said. She added: “Wala akong date. I’m good. I’m fine. I’m okay. I’m happy and better. I’ve moved on.” The well-loved celebrity couple broke up last last July, with Crawford citing his being "lost" as one of the reasons behind the split.

Billy Crawford ready to move on after split

MANILA – Billy Crawford is now ready to move on with his life after his breakup with singer Nikki Gil. During the press conference for his upcoming comedy film “Momzillas,” Crawford he would prefer not to dwell on the past. “Kaya ayaw ko masyado magsalita kasi ...hahaba at hahaba pa 'yan. I already closed the chapter, closed the book and I'm ready to move on and it's a blessing to be with the people here and that's all I've got to say,” he said. Instead of dwelling on negative issues, Crawford said he’d rather focus on promoting “Momzillas” which will be released in theaters nationwide soon. The “It’s Showtime” host said he is fortunate to have found another family in his “Momzillas” co-stars led by comedian Eugene Domingo and veteran actress Maricel Soriano. “First time actually na makatrabaho ko ang mga tao na never nagkaroon ng issue from day one na nag-meet. First time ko rin makatrabaho si Miss Eugene (Domingo) at Miss Maria (Maricel Soriano). Si direk Wenn (Deramas) actually 'yung pinaka-close ko dito sa lahat and it's such a blessing to walk in sa trabaho at sobrang gaan ng pakiramdam,” he said. “Lahat naman dito I'm sure may pinagdadaanan and lahat naman tayo may pinagdadaanan sa buhay. Pero pagdating namin sa isa't isa, wala kaming pinag-uusapang problem. Kaya dun ako blessed, that I actually met these people for a reason kaya sobrang happy ako and I would love to work with them again if given the opportunity,” he added. Crawford also took to the opportunity to clarify rumors about him and "Momzillas" co-star Andi Eigenmann, who had been tagged as the reason behind his breakup with Gil. (http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/entertainment/09/03/13/billy-crawford-says-so...) Crawford said he wants to absolve Eigenmann because she really had nothing to do with it. “Andi became a friend of mine through the film as well. We became close, that's really true and it wasn't Andi's fault kaya I really apologized to Andi kasi nadadamay siya sa personal life ko. And that's bilang respeto ko rin sa lahat ng kasamahan ko dito,” he said.

Nikki moves on, erases Billy's photos

MANILA -- Followers of Nikki Gil online were surprised to discover early this week that the singer-actress had erased all photos of her boyfriend of almost five years, Billy Crawford, from her page on Instagram. As of Wednesday, Gil's account on the popular image-sharing service, which has over 387,000 followers, no longer has any photos with Crawford in it. A number of followers expressed sadness over the photos of the former couple being deleted, with user swaggurl4344 commenting, "You deleted all your photos with Billy Crawford. Oh no what happened? im deeply saddened :'(" Others, however, supported the "ASAP" mainstay's move, with user _andreyaahhh saying, "this is her ig account. she can do whatever. delete pics and all... just let her move on... you all are not helping with those comments." The last photo of Gil and Crawford on her Instagram page, which has since been deleted, showed the former couple getting cozy after an "absolutely perfect" day sometime in June. Earlier in May, on the occasion of Crawford's 31st birthday, Gil also posted a collage of photos of the "It's Showtime" co-host, with the caption, "Happiest Birthday to my best friend, my happy thought, my dream come true @billyjoecrawford." "You are a blessing to everyone around you. I love you! PS These photos still make me swoon every time I see them #TheHumstermeier," the caption said. Last Sunday, in a birthday speech on "ASAP" that addressed the breakup for the first time, Gil said, "I've got my birthday wish and that's to be whole again."

Billy Crawford back on 'It's Showtime'

MANILA – Singer Billy Crawford returned to ABS-CBN's noontime program "It's Showtime" on Thursday, more than two weeks after he left for the United States to be with his parents. Crawford was given a warm welcome by his fellow hosts during the show's opening banter. “Isang napakalaking eye-opener sa akin [ang trip ko to Texas] dahil wala akong ginawa kundi makasama ang nanay at tatay ko,” he said. Crawford said it’s always good “to go back to your roots, to where I started.” The “It’s Showtime" host said he is fortunate to have a supportive family who always has his back. “First and foremost, I’m really blessed. Ngayon ko lang talaga nalaman na blessed ako. I love you mom, I love you dad. I owe everything to you, guys. Lahat ng gagawin ko ngayon at lahat ng ginagawa ko, from now until the end, para sa mommy and daddy ko,” he said. Crawford left for the United States last August 3, just days after he confirmed that he and singer Nikki Gil broke up. The singer earlier cited his being "lost" as one of the reasons behind his breakup with Gil, his girlfriend of more than four years. Before he left, he told ABS-CBN News that he does not know when he will be coming back.

Billy asks: Mukha ba akong bakla?

MANILA – The decision of Billy Crawford to speak up about what happened to his relationship with Nikki Gil was supposed to end rumors. But for some viewers, Crawford’s vague statements during his emotional “The Buzz” interview last week only left more questions than clarifications as to why the celebrity couple decided to part ways. Among the rumors that surfaced was whether the singer-dancer is gay. Some came to this conclusion after Crawford said he is currently trying to find himself. “I’m the one who’s completely lost and I’m searching. I asked her this. You know, give me that chance to find myself since it’s very difficult. I tend to hurt her,” he said during the interview. But the “It’s Showtime” host shrugged off this rumor by briefly asking: “Mukha ba akong bakla?” Another speculation that came up was a possible third party after some netizens claimed that TV host Coleen Garcia caused the Crawford-Gil breakup. Last week, an exasperated Crawford lashed out at critics for dragging Garcia's name into his controversial breakup with Gil. "What the hell is wrong with you people? There is nothing about me and Coleen! You guys are just so wrong, man," he said. He challenged his critics to face him, and went on to call them "narrow-minded" for discussing others' personal lives without any intimate knowledge of their relationships. "May problema kayo sa akin, ako na Lang. Huwag ninyong idamay mga taong walang kinalaman sa hiwalayan naming ni Nikki. Punta kayo sa ABS, harapin nyo ako Lakas nyo magsalita tunkol sa kung anong nangyayari eh. Pero wala kayong alam!!!” he said. According to Crawford, he’d rather be with his family amid this ordeal. “I will be with my family. I don’t think [concerned sila sa issue]. Ang hinahabol nila makita ako,” he said. Crawford left for the United States on Saturday without disclosing when he will be coming back. “Maraming, maraming salamat po sa lahat ng sumusuporta. Thank you very much for the kind words that you’ve been saying to me. God bless everyone and see you guys soon,” he said.

Nikki has message for Billy

MANILA -- Nikki Gil opted to give a short message when asked to air her side on her separation from her partner of almost five years, Billy Crawford. The 25-year-old actress-singer, who has repeatedly declined to be interviewed on the matter, was recently approached by entertainment talk show "Showbiz Inside Report" to once again request for her statement on the break-up. In her first statement since the issue erupted in late July, Gil, through a text sent to the ABS-CBN program, only gave a brief message for her former boyfriend. "I wish him well," she said. Last Sunday, in a live interview on "The Buzz," a tearful Crawford said the separation "all boils down to me." The 31-year-old actor added he is set to leave for the United States this month to "find myself" and spend time with his parents. Although Gil has largely kept mum on the break-up, a common friend of the couple, singer Gary Valenciano, shared his recent encounter with the actress. According to Valenciano, Gil became emotional when he offered her a hug. "Sabi ko, 'Hi, Nikki!' I went like that," Valenciano, who is Gil's fellow "ASAP" mainstay, said in an interview aired Saturday on "Showbiz Inside Report." "And then she looked at me. Siguro alam niya na alam ko. Sabi ko, 'Hey, let me give you a hug.' Pag-akap ko sa kanya parang bumigay siya nang kaunti," he said. Crawford, for his part, has had to address rumors romantically linking him to his "It's Showtime" co-host Coleen Garcia. The "Bright Lights" hitmaker reiterated, as he emphasized in his "The Buzz" interview, that no third party was involved in the break-up.

Coleen Garcia denies causing Billy-Nikki breakup

MANILA – “It’s Showtime” host Coleen Garcia distanced herself from the recent breakup of singers Nikki Gill and Billy Crawford. This after many netizens accused Garcia as the "third party" in the former couple's four-year long relationship. In an interview with the entertainment website Pep.ph, Garcia said people should not put malice to her closeness to Crawford because all of them on “It’s Showtime” are like family. “Ang masasabi ko lang, there’s nothing going on between me and Billy. I’m close to him but I’m close to everybody in 'Showtime.' Huwag sanang bigyan ng kulay 'yun saka wala akong kinalaman sa breakup nila. I think that’s a very sensitive topic so ayoko talagang makisawsaw dun,” she said. Garcia shared Crawford has already apologized to her since her name is being dragged into the issue. “Well, he apologized na nasama ako dito, so 'yun lang naman. He texted, ‘Sorry ha na nasama ka sa isyu na ito.’ Sabi ko, ‘It’s okay, I understand naman kasi showbiz nga.’ I have thought about it. Siguro kasi ako lang ang single sa 'Showtime,'” she said. Garcia said she is not anymore surprised that issues like this exist. “I thought about it, showbiz is full of rumors. Siguro I’m not surprised. People want to know certain answers and they will not get it from me, kasi wala talaga akong alam diyan. It’s part of it, it’s part of the job na rumors come and go,” she said. According to Garcia, she will not be affected by any kind of intrigues as long as she knows the truth and she is not stepping on someone. On Tuesday, an exasperated Crawford lashed out at critics for dragging Garcia's name into his controversial break-up with Gil. Huwag ninyong idamay mga taong walang kinalaman sa hiwalayan namin ni Nikki. Punta kayo sa ABS, harapin nyo ako. Lakas nyo magsalita tungkol sa kung anong nangyayari eh. Pero wala kayong alam!!! "As much as im lost and unhappy. You guys got major problems with your lives. Narrow minded people! Open your eyes and look in the mirror and ask your self. Are you content with your life talking about others? Of course not, you guys are perfect! May God bless you all!!! Not even being sarcastic. Bless you all," he said.

Gary V on Billy: 'Give him space'

MANILA -- Singer Gary Valenciano appealed to the public to give the space that Billy Crawford needs after his controversial separation with Nikki Gil. "Sana 'yung mga taong pumapaligid sa kanya, 'yung mga taong kino-consider niya as kapamilya, yung tunay na kapamilya talaga, I hope that kasali na rin ako doon. I hope we can all help and really give him the space that he needs, give him a chance and kung ano man ang binanggit niya sa 'The Buzz,' let's give him that chance to find himself. And then let him be. Because when he comes back naniniwala ako na he will be refined in every aspect of his life,” Valenciano told reporters in a recent interview. Valenciano shared he had the chance to talked to Gil and Crawford before the latter's interview on "The Buzz." After all that happened, he said that he will always be there to listen to his friends. "They are very close to me. Napanuod ko nang konti 'yung sinabi ni Billy and I'm really, really concerned about that young man. But I respect that they both know, parang nag-mature na rin sila and noong kinausap ko si Billy, kinausap ko si Nikki, wala silang masamang sinasabi tungkol sa isa’t isa. Billy admits that there’s something going on in him which sabi ko, I will always be around for that. If he wants to talk, kung gusto niyang mailabas lang 'yung kung ano man yun, I’ll even just listen kung 'yan ang kailangan niya, 'yan lang ang gagawin ko,” he added. Crawford earlier said he will leave the country this Saturday (August 3) to be with his family. On Tuesday, he got mad when he defended his "It's Showtime" co-host Coleen Garcia, saying that she has nothing to do with the controversial breakup.

Fuming Billy blasts critics, clears Coleen

MANILA -- An exasperated Billy Crawford lashed out at critics Monday for dragging Coleen Garcia's name into his controversial break-up with Nikki Gil, his girlfriend of almost 5 years. The 31-year-old singer took to the image-sharing service Instagram to address netizens who claimed Garcia, Crawford's "It's Showtime" co-host, had a part in his separation from Gil. Crawford, who uses the Instagram handle "billyjoecrawford," made the comment on a photo posted by comedian-host Vice Ganda under his account "praybeytbenjamin." The photo, which shows Vice Ganda with his co-hosts on "It's Showtime" -- Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Jhong Hilario and Ryan Bang -- is captioned, "I missed my Showtime sibs a lot. Great to be back." Vice Ganda was recently on leave from the noontime program to recover from polyps found in his vocal cords. He returned on Monday, July 29. The same day marked the start of Crawford's prolonged leave from "It's Showtime," which he announced in a live interview on "The Buzz" Sunday. Although Crawford was not in the photo posted by Vice Ganda on Monday, the singer's name was brought up in the comments when a number of netizens speculated on his break-up with Gil. The "Bright Lights" hitmaker, in his "The Buzz" interview, emphasized there was no third party in the relationship. He only said that he needed to "find myself," which is also the reason why he will be leaving the country to spend time with his parents. A number of netizens, however, insisted on discussing the supposed romance between Garcia and Crawford, which the latter answered through his own comment. The 31-year-old Crawford resumed his regular co-hosting duties on the ABS-CBN noontime program, as he did in episodes aired earlier in the week. Crawford and Gil reportedly ended their relationship last week, after almost five years of being a couple. They would have marked their anniversary next month. The "Bright Lights" hitmaker, however, in greeting the live studio audience of "It's Showtime" during its opening segment on Friday, quipped, "Kailangan ko kayo ngayon!" Crawford, meanwhile, was already rushing to board his vehicle when ABS-CBN News caught up with him to ask for comment on his separation. The singer only said, "I'm great, I'm good" and that he will "answer everything next time," before riding his car. Gil has also yet to speak on the matter. Billy Crawford says he and Nikki Gil do not want to rush into marriage

Billy Crawford denied that he got jealous of Patrick Garcia who starred with Billy’s long-time girlfriend, Nikki Gil, in the pilot week of the teleserye Apoy Sa Dagat. Patrick and Nikki portrayed star-crossed lovers who had twin daughters played by Angelica Panganiban. Since Patrick and Nikki were required to act as a couple who are very passionate and very much in love with each other, Billy allegedly got jealous and had a rift with Nikki that lasted for a week. Billy, however, denied this in a recent interview. “Unang-una, siya (Nikki) ang unang-unang lumapit sa akin at nagtanong kung okay lang… bilang respeto rin naman niya sa akin ‘yon,” related the It’s Showtime and Pilipinas Got Talent host. “Pero trabaho niya ‘yon, wala naman akong magagawa.” Billy added that he was not able to watch those episodes with Nikki and Patrick, but knew that the two garnered a lot of positive feedback for their convincing portrayals. Nevertheless, the international pop star is very proud of Nikki, who got rave reviews for her short but notable performance. “Nabitin ako for her performance,” said Billy.
