MANILA -- Alex Gonzaga drew laughter when she emerged as "Boney Gonzaga," a spoof character of her older sister and "The Voice of the Philippines" co-host Toni, during a weekend special aired as part of the celebration of 60 years of Philippine television.
Wearing artificial bangs, Alex introduced herself as "The Bangs of the Philippines," or the host of a reality contest called "The Poise."
She went on to introduce a "Rattle Round" -- inspired by "The Voice's" battles phase -- featuring Myk Perez, a finalist on the actual talent search; and KZ Tandingan, the first winner of "The X Factor Philippines."
Alex's persona as "Boney," which caught Toni by surprise, is a spoof of the latter's Twitter-trending hairstyle as seen in one of the semifinals episodes of "The Voice of the Philippines."
The segment featuring "Boney" and Tandingan and Perez's duet was aired Saturday night during the TV special "Kanta Natin 'To: A Celebration of 60 Years of Music," which gathered on stage several music stars including victors of ABS-CBN contests.
