MANILA - Host-actress Kris Aquino confirmed that she will be one of the godmothers of sweethearts Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco, who are set to tie the knot this December.
In an episode of "Kris TV" aired on Friday, Aquino said Cantiveros already informed her via text message that she will be part of their wedding in General Santos City.
She added that her youngest son, James "Bimby" Yap Jr., will be the ring bearer.
"The other day, she texted me to say, 'please block off po, ninang po kayo, tapos si Bimb will be our ring bearer,'" Aquino told her "Kris TV" guest co-host Angelica Panganiban, who is a close friend of Cantiveros.
For the first time, Aquino admitted that like Panganiban, she got worried after finding out that Cantiveros is pregnant.
"Ako naluha-luha. Sabi ko, why naman? Tapos tanong pa ako nang tanong, kasalanan ba namin 'yan? Sa Singapore ba talaga nangyari? Sabi niya hindi daw," she said as she recalled her Singapore trip with Cantiveros and Francisco for "Kris TV."
Aquino also explained why Cantiveros is no longer a guest co-host on "Kris TV," saying that she has nothing against the comedienne.
"Why did she have to stop? Kasi 'yun ang tanong ng lahat. Kasi I keep getting these posts sa IG (Instagram) na, 'nagtampo ba kayo sa kanya kaya wala na siya sa Kris TV?' And I keep on telling everybody na it's a delicate time in her pregnancy. And because we are always outside, hindi naman pwede na matagtag, baka madapa o mapagod," she said.
Panganiban, for her part, said that she will be attending Cantiveros' wedding.
"Noong huli ko siyang nakausap parang ang sabi ko, 'o sige balitaan mo na lang ako sa kasal, puntahan na lang kita.' Kasi nasa GenSan siya, 'di ba? Parang hindi siya makapaniwala na susuportahan ko na sila ngayon," she said.
In an interview with ABS-CBNnews.com on Thursday, Cantiveros and Francisco confirmed that they are tying the knot in December in the comedienne's hometown of General Santos City.
Cantiveros earlier admitted that she is pregnant with Francisco's child.
