MANILA (UPDATED) -- The third major solo concert of Vice Ganda, which broke records in May, will finally be shown on free TV later this month.
"I-Vice Ganda Mo 'Ko sa Araneta," which was staged last May 17 at the popular Quezon City concert venue, will be aired in August as one of ABS-CBN's "Sunday's Best" offerings.
According to ticket distributor Ticketnet, the show set the record of being the highest-earning concert staged by a local artist.
Taking cue from national issues and events, as well as pop culture trends, "I-Vice Ganda Mo 'Ko" saw the comedian-host in themed performances based on the 2013 elections, the Binibining Pilipinas pageant, and the Psy hit "Gentleman," among others.
Vice Ganda was also joined on stage by several guest stars, including actor Daniel Padilla, Enrique Gil, Paulo Avelino, actress Dawn Zulueta, singer Regine Velasquez and comedienne-actress Ai Ai delas Alas.
Over a week after it was staged, the concert drew controversy when one of the subjects of Vice Ganda's jokes during the show, veteran broadcast journalist Jessica Soho, criticized the comedian for supposedly making light of "rape."
The "It's Showtime" host, a day later, made a televised apology, which was subsequently "acknowledged" by Soho.
