MANILA, Philippines -- It seems that Jason Francisco has changed his mind, with the comedian looking forward to spending more years in the Philippines as an actor.
"Siyempre kung ako ang papipiliin, ayaw ko naman talaga umalis dito sa Pilipinas. Gusto ko pa rin dito magtrabaho," Francisco told ABS-CBNnews.com in an interview on Wednesday.
Francisco made the statement after his girlfriend, fellow "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate Melai Cantiveros, revealed that he wants to work abroad after his controversial brawl with actor-dancer John Prats.
He said he is still hoping to patch things up with his "kuya" Prats even if the latter already said in a previous interview that he has forgiven him.
"Mayroon daw pong isang interview, sinabi niya na pinatawad na niya ako. Pero sana po sa personal [magkita kami]. Ako, siyempre po gusto ko maayos na po. Matagal na rin naman," he said.
Last March, Francisco hit Prats three times during a taping for an episode of the comedy show "Banana Split."
Prats surmised that Francisco was angered by his group's constant teasing of Cantiveros, who is also part of the comedy show.
In a previous interview, Francisco admitted he was hurt by the jokes about him and Cantiveros. He also apologized to Prats and the staff of "Banana Split."
Francisco is currently busy taping for an episode of the ABS-CBN fantasy drama anthology "Wansapanataym."
