MANILA, Philippines -- Vice Ganda got his voice back.
Just a little over a week after doctors ordered him to undergo "no talk therapy" because of polyps on his vocal cords, the comedian seemed to have recovered enough for him to perform a song number for his Filipino fans in London last July 21.
In his official Twitter account, Vice Ganda thanked God for being able to perform at the London Barrio Fiesta event. "My voice is pretty well now. Happiness!" he tweeted.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the "It's Showtime" host said he is still taking steroids for his condition.
"Since I was diagnosed, this is the first time I was able to perform. Kaya nga natakot ako kasi akala ko hindi ako papayagan. Buti pinayagan ako nung doctor na mag-perform ulit. So far okay naman na. Polyps are still there pero lumiit na kaya pinanapatay nung steroids kasi kung hindi siya ma-cure, I will have to undergo surgery. Pero mabait ang Diyos," he explained.
Joining Vice Ganda in the London event were Kapamilya stars Maja Salvador, Richard Gomez, Angeline Quinto, Xian Lim and Kim Chiu.
After London, Vice Ganda went to Paris, France, based on his tweets. -- With report from Jenny Ybañez, Europe News Bureau, London.
