As the star of the top-rated daytime Kapamilya series Be Careful With My Heart, Jodi Sta. Maria said she is not the type to let fame get into her head. “Alam mo this is something that’s temporary. Siguro yun na lang yung iniisip ko. Sabi ko nga eh, siguro mas na-appreciate lang ako ng mga tao now bilang actor pero I’m still the person. Kumbaga I still do the same things,” she explained.
“Siyempre yung ipon dumami. Pero yun lang naman. Fame is something na hindi mo dapat linalagay sa ulo mo kasi it’s not permanent. Wala namang permanente sa mundo, change lang. Lahat puwede mabago,” she added.
Jodi said that being on the show and playing such a lovable character has also taught her a thing or two about how to view life in general. “Ako siguro I think yung outlook ko sa buhay kasi kahit ako natututo ako kay Maya. I’m learning a lot from my character kasi si Miss Positivity yun eh. Na kahit gaano na kapangit ang sitwasyon o isang bagay, she still sees na may maganda pa ring idudulot yung situation na yun,” she shared.
The 31-year-old actress said she is happy that their family-oriented series is being extended. “Wala namang problema as long as alam namin na gusto pa ng tao na panuorin yung show. Alam namin na marami pang na-i-inspire sa pinapalabas namin, madaming natututo sa Be Careful With My Heart, bakit naman hindi di ba? Kung yun yung serbisyo na mabibigay namin,” she said.
Because of the show, Jodi admitted that she has not had the time to do other projects like indie films which she admits she enjoys doing. “Right now mahirap tumanggap ng ibang proyekto dahil kumbaga halos karamihan ng oras namin nasa Be Careful With My Heart na. Nag-tour pa so punong-puno na talaga yung schedule so dito talaga kami naka-focus muna. Na-mi-miss ko na nga mag-indie eh. Hindi ako makatanggap din kasi nga sobrang busy ng schedule pero pag nakaluwag-luwag yun ang unang-una kong babalikan, yung gumawa ng indie films,” she added.
