MANILA, Philippines -- Comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas is reportedly set to marry her businessman-boyfriend Jed Salang on December 8.
Entertainment editor Ricky Lo in his column for the Philippine Star published on Tuesday said delas Alas will "definitely" have her church wedding in the Philippines.
Over the weekend, several online articles citing sources close to the couple reported that the comedienne and Salang have tied the knot in Las Vegas last April 3.
But when asked by "The Buzz" during last Saturday, delas Alas neither confirmed nor denied the wedding reports.
"The Buzz" host Boy Abunda said delas Alas would make an announcement on the ABS-CBN entertainment talk show this coming Sunday.
In his Tuesday column, Lo said the reported Las Vegas wedding "could be possible but then again it couldn’t be."
"Funfare sources said that Ai-Ai and Jed are definitely getting married in church in the Philippines (and not somewhere else) on Dec. 8 this year, the same date they’ve been mentioning as D-day," Lo wrote in his column.
Lo also quoted Abante entertainment columnist Jojo Gabinete who said he checked the online records of Clark County of Las Vegas and "Ai-Ai and Jed’s names were not (yet?) there."
Feeding the rumors that delas Alas and Salang indeed got hitched in Las Vegas were Instagram photos of the couple and even comedienne's family in formal wear, although these were vaguely captioned as a "formal dinner."
While both have remained silent about their supposed wedding, Salang was gracious enough to share about his girlfriend’s possible pregnancy.
“Hindi pa namin nako-confirm. This week magpa-pacheck siya. Siyempre excited. Kung bibigyan kami ni Lord ng chance na magkaroon pa ng baby, why not? Blessing iyon eh,” he said.
